“Design excellence has been the focus of LEO A DALY for 100 years.  These award-winning projects represent some of our most thoughtful, compelling work,” said Chris Johnson, Managing Principal at LEO A DALY.

“The new SAC headquarters is one of the most dramatic, unique spaces in the Omaha area, and it really lends itself to community use. The volume of the spaces, their relationship to the outside, and the choice of materials—in particular the floating staircase and the choice of glue lam beams for the curtain wall—really make it one-of-a-kind,” said Martin Janousek, architect with LEO A DALY.

“Designed for a petrochemical company, The Strand was inspired by the twisting structure of polymer thread, capturing SABIC’s innovation while making a strong statement about the company’s brand. It’s gratifying to see our work recognized,” said Matt Whaley, architect with LEO A DALY.

For nearly 50 years, The American Institute of Architects, Nebraska Chapter (AIA NE) has celebrated outstanding architecture through the Excellence in Design program. The Merit award was decided by a jury of three independent judges, chaired by San Francisco architect Mark Cavagnero. The People’s Choice Awards were decided by online vote.
