undefinedLEO A DALY today announced that respected architect Mary Shaffer has joined the firm’s Minneapolis office as Director of Architecture. In this role, Shaffer oversees scheduling, staffing, mentorship, and quality review for the office’s architectural services.

“Mary is a noted leader in the Minnesota architectural community with 27 years of wide-ranging experience and a gift for mentorship,” said Matthew Johnson, Managing Principal of LEO A DALY Minneapolis. “She has worked for large A&E firms, big businesses like Target, and institutions like the University of Minnesota, giving her insight on both the owner and professional side. She’s also incredibly engaged as a public servant, sitting on a number of boards and committees, such as the AIA and the Downtown Council. She’ll be a great fit with our design culture, and an asset to our clients.”

“I’m excited to be joining LEO A DALY, a 100-year-old firm with a 98-year history in Minnesota. I love this region and believe that every project can enhance our client’s lives through design. This firm’s dedication to delivering design excellence in a technically rigorous and client-focused way matches perfectly with my own motivations and goals,” said Shaffer.

Shaffer joins LEO A DALY from the University of Minnesota, where she helped manage capital projects and oversee all aspects of design and planning. She was also principal design project-manager for Target Corporation, where she led retail and corporate projects in India and the United States.

Continuing the growth of LEO A DALY Minneapolis, today’s announcement comes on the heels of the Matthew Johnson’s appointment as Managing Principal. Shaffer’s hire is part of a number of strategic hires aimed at responding to the growth in demand for the design studio’s architectural and engineering services.
