LEO A DALY Welcomes Bill Bruneau as Senior Aviation Planner
(LOS ANGELES - March 2007) Bill Bruneau, AIA, AICP, has joined Leo A Daly as senior aviation planner. He is based in the Los Angeles office.
Bruneau has more than 20 years of experience in aviation and more than 35 years practicing architecture, interior design, planning and urban design. He has worked for airlines, airport authorities and consultants in addition to his work at architecture and engineering firms. With clients at more than 45 airports, his experience includes major international terminal facilities for Denver, Taipei, Dulles, Boston, San Francisco, London, Philadelphia, Salt Lake City and Los Angeles airports.
His aviation project experience includes the planning, design and construction of terminals, concourses, maintenance complexes, hangars, parking structures, baggage handling systems, ground control towers, departure lounges, curbside operations and concessions facilities.
Recently, Bruneau worked on a team composed of the U.S. Transportation Security Administration, the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE) and Airports Council International (ACI) to develop the new "Security Guidelines for Airport Planning, Design and Construction," which was released in July 2006 to provide guidance on airport layout, security screening, emergency response, access control and communications.
He received a master's degree in urban design from Harvard University, a master's degree in architecture from the University of Colorado and a bachelor's degree in architecture from Pennsylvania State University. He also has a postgraduate certificate from MIT and the University of Florence.
Bruneau is an active member of the American Institute of Architects, the American Institute of Certified Planners, ACI and AAAE. His awards include the Award of Merit from the City and County of Denver and a Harvard Fellowship. He has published articles on topics including architectural lighting, transit planning and aviation and has taught architecture courses at several colleges and universities.
