660 North Capitol Street, NW

Washington, D.C.

The eight-story trophy office building, 660 North Capitol Street, NW, is located just a few blocks from Union Station, one of the busiest transportation hubs in the US. The approximately 325,000-GSF building is the second part of an urban infill master plan that included 25 Massachusetts Ave, NW, and a shared courtyard, for which LEO A DALY was also the architect.

LEO A DALY’s simple, clean and well-proportioned design includes a glass facade. The articulation of the base and top pay homage to the historic proportions and detail of the Government Publishing Office to the north and other historic buildings in the neighborhood. The modern building is designed to create a foil to the more historic buildings along the street and completes an important block on the North Capitol Street corridor.

The project achieved LEED Gold certification.
