Jay & Jenny Allison Indoor Football Practice Facility

Waco, Texas

This 73,000-SF indoor football practice facility provides an artificial turf field for the Baylor University Football Team. The project, constructed using the design-build methodology, includes an indoor field area, entry lobby, restrooms, and support spaces. The 80-yard artificial infill turf field is installed over a sand bed with under-field drainage system. The building provides tempered air conditioning, sports lighting system, sound system and filming platform for the facility and adjacent outdoor fields. As required by Baylor University, the building skin utilizes brick and decorative masonry to fit with the existing architecture of the campus. The facility achieved USGBC LEED Silver Certification for brownfield redevelopment, water use efficiency, and recycled content of building materials.
