Boone County Government Center
The Boone County Government Center provides new areas for the county commission and nine other county departments, shared conference spaces, and new public hearing rooms. The original 1906 Beaux Arts style courthouse and a recent addition occupy land directly across the street from the site of the new building. A block-long public plaza was formed by closing off a length of street bordered by the new government center, the courthouse, the Boone Tavern and a colonnade salvaged from the original 1847 courthouse.
