Dover AFB - Air Traffic Control Tower & Radar Approach Control
Design development and follow-on construction documents were provided for the new 92-FT tall (to cab floor) Air Traffic Control Tower (ATCT) and 8,000-SF Radar Approach Control (RAPCON) center at Dover Air Force Base in Delaware. Scope included site investigation at Dover AFB and compatibility reviews with base architects as well as the Air Mobility Command Design Center, coordination with the base Architectural Guide, site selection reviews, and interface with future projects planned for the base. The facility includes air traffic control training facilities as well as an air traffic control simulator facility. Other project design specifications included site security, surveillance systems and access roadways.
