Gate 28 Honolulu Airport Concessions

HMS Host—a world leader in travel dining and shopping—hired Leo A Daly as executive architect to work with the owner and the interior design firm on four concessions at Honolulu International Airport: two sit-down sports bars and two fast food restaurants. Challenged by the airport schedule and tight security, Leo A Daly and the general contractor worked closely with airport officials to fast-track the construction phase and successfully meet project deadlines. The 210-seat Kona Brewing Company Restaurant, located at the main terminal of the airport, embraces a Hawaiian flair where the interior is highlighted with tropical colors of orange, yellow, blue and green. Patrons are served in a fun and friendly atmosphere at the 73-seat capacity Gordon Biersch Brewery Restaurant located at the Ewa Concourse at Gate 28. Both restaurants feature a full bar of specialty cocktails with live sports broadcasts. Fast food outlets Burger King and Cold Stone Creamery, both located at Gate 12 of the main terminal, share a common 115-seat dining area.
