Police Simulation Training for Honolulu's Finest

Waipahu, Hawaii

LEO A DALY provided architectural services for the Phase 2 expansion of the existing Indoor Firing Range facility at the Honolulu Police Training Academy. The expansion includes the addition of a 3,750-SF building consisting of a classroom, two simulation rooms, office space, two control rooms, storage areas, and restrooms. A breezeway with an overhead canopy connects the expansion to the existing buildings.

The classroom was wired to allow hands-on use of the latest technologies employed by the Honolulu Police Department and access the curriculum required for each training session. The simulation rooms are used by recruits and veteran police officers and uses a computer-based system to create and control an environment where trainees must interact within real life scenarios requiring use of weapons.
