West Palm Beach, Florida
The project included an extensive vision study and master plan to develop a high-tech “library of the future”, while integrating the charm of the existing campus. The urban campus’ Spanish Mediterranean architecture, replete with sandy-colored stucco facades and winding landscaped paths, as well as an existing three-story, octagonal shaped chapel and theatre were part of the transformation. Our experienced library design professionals helped guide the design vision and transformed the original 26,000-SF 1933 chapel into a dynamic, relaxing reading area with a living room feel, complete with perimeter balconies. The library now includes a 60-seat coffee shop, 70-seat information commons, two classrooms, 25 small group-study rooms, four group-study rooms, and a 55-seat, high-tech boardroom with serving kitchen. The entire project is all within a sustainable design concept.

"The Warren Library is an elegant architectural expression of how we see our university as a place to learn. It is a wonderful space filled with Florida sunshine that draws students to the books, publications, technology, and one another. In the first month, use of the library increased 800 percent! It is now the place for students to be at Palm Beach Atlantic University and has transformed our campus forever."
