Education and Social Sciences Building
Santa Barbara, California
The Education and Social Sciences building project includes three buildings: Gevirtz Graduate School of Education (GGSE), Graduate School for College of Letters and Sciences (L&S), and Pollack Theater Center for Film, TV, and New Media. The GGSE and L&S buildings have faculty offices, classrooms, and research spaces in two, four-story buildings. The theater building includes seating for 300 people.
The two buildings form an integral part of the West Campus, from both campus circulation and physical massing aspects. The exterior materials of the buildings were selected to complement the appearance of traditional masonry and concrete materials on adjacent buildings. The project was planned to be LEED Silver certified. LEO A DALY served as Associate Architect with Kallmann, McKinnell & Wood Architects.
