Thrivent Financial wanted an entry feature to symbolize its spiritually based business activities. Its greatest challenge was that it be distinct from, yet sympathetic to, its 1970s modernist building and the entry's monolithic travertine walls and floors.
Our design converted a library into a prominent chapel. Warm accents of slate, wood and sisal welcome the visitor. Wave-patterned glass separates the room from the public, while announcing its importance. The vestibule has hand crafted red glass encapsulating the "eternal light," visible from inside the chapel and lobby.
We designed and then worked with artisans making the glass, eternal light, bronze cross, door hardware and hickory doors, seating and window mullions.
